I think I like it!
After testing the waters, and dabbling in some human figure art, I now feel that I am ready to venture into this new world
of people.
When I was younger, I always struggled with human figure drawing, finding the animals much easier to render - which probably
had a lot to do with my love of pets and other creatures of this earth. I gave it up for lost, figuring that this ability
to create a portrait of people would never come to me. So it sat, for years unused. Swept under the bed like a pair of favorite
old socks that you just don't want to throw away - but are really useless. Full of holes and collecting dust until they disintegrate
into the carpet. Well, I think that was a little too deep, but that's how it seemed to go.
Then, one fine fall day, I was out photographing with my little sister, and it just so happened that I got a good shot of
her and little Brandy together. It was such a great picture, that, foolishly, I wanted to draw it. It had a dog in it, so
I figured it couldn't be that bad. Well, as it turns out, it wasn't. Though not my best piece, it was an open invitation into
this new world of people portraits - a step I'd never thought I'd take. And, I suppose the rest is history - as you'll see
in the gallery below.
People portraits will not be available as of yet, and I will be positing a date shortly of when I will launch this new endeavour,
so stay tuned for more information.
PLEASE NOTE: People portraits will only be created in graphtie pencil, and for the time being, will be only made available
in the 5"x7" and 9"x12" head shot sizes ($75.00 & $175.00)
