My love of animals, especially dogs, is very apparent in my work. I believe that animals share with us a bond that is
unlike any we can compare to in the human world. Animals are such innocent creatures and their expressions and activites make
them fun as well as challenging to capture on paper, canvas or in a photograph.
I am a self taught artist, having started drawing as soon as I could hold a pencil in my little paws... um, fingers.
I am a graduate from the Desktop Publishing Program at Mohawk College, and have had the opportunity to participate in formal
Oil Painting lessons. Through college I learned an abundance of different illustration methods including pen and ink, water
colour pencil crayon, marker, airbrush and more. My passion for drawing is obvious in my work - carefully composed to capture
the true spirit of my subject. Drawing and painting are not work for me, but rather a much loved hobby and a creative outlet
for my vast imagination.
I specialize acrylic dog portraits, with a unique flair that captures your pets true spirit and that added touch that
makes these pieces truly a work of art. My acrylic dog portraits come to life before your eyes with the rich colour and great
detail to expression and activity.
My greatest influence is my Jack Russell Terrier, Brandy. Brandy is one of my main subjects, and has the personality and expressions
that make her an absolute joy to draw and photograph. Brandy is registered with JRTCC, AAC, CARO, CDDA and CPE and currently
competes in agility in the JRTCC, AAC and CPE, as well as dabbles in Rally-O in CARO venues. You can see Brandy's personality
as an insane "ball dog" shine through in the painting "Me and My Ball".
